I play and teach all kinds of classical music - from Baroque to Contemporary. I think it is very important to understand how unique and complete each individual style is - therefore, I don't really have a favorite one, since they are all incredible. I am an open-minded and easy going person, always willing to collaborate with my students' needs and ideas when it gets to piano playing. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about lessons via the contact form on this website – I will be more than happy to reply! Looking forward to hearing from you soon and please check out my biography & videos!

My teaching focus is based on:
technique improvement, through alternating muscle activation and relaxation, proper hand position, and optimized movements
stylistic nuances of each era/composer
work with imagery, characters, discussing various interpretative approaches
I myself was taught by professors in Kyiv, New York City, Boston, Florence, and Lucerne, who were students of the leading pedagogues of the Kyiv, St. Petersburg, Tbilisi, and Moscow Conservatories. My own teaching style is based on this system since I find it very effective and extremely productive.
I have been teaching since 2008 – at the time I was pursuing my Bachelor's. I have experience with students of different ages and levels and I am always looking for an individual approach that would work best for the student, based on his/her background, experience, interest, goals, and availability to practice between lessons (please note that this is required!)
I would say that I am a patient, but at the same time a demanding teacher. My goal is to inspire the student to enjoy the process (even when it gets tough) and to always reach for the result!
If you (or your child) would like to make progress and are ready to work on your own between the lessons, I will do all I can to find the most optimized ways for it to happen. If you only seek entertainment, fun, meditation, or '[music] therapy' in any way, and you don't feel like concentrating and working during/between the lessons – I will just say upfront that you should find another teacher.

The short answer is yes!
You should have a stable Internet connection, a piano or a digital piano, and a device with Zoom installed. I would recommend devices with a larger screen so you can see me better. The use of additional microphones/cameras is welcome, but it is not required. Modern devices provide enough sound quality for me to be useful.
Zoom has settings, such as "original sound for musicians", which is something that does not suppress the sound of your instrument and is necessary for an online lesson, as well as the echo cancellation.
I prefer to avoid other platforms, since after many attempts, zoom has proven to be the best software for transmitting the sound without significant distortion.

Yes! I do teach beginners online, starting from the age of 12 and in person starting from the age of 5.
-
I do, however only in person (not online) until they are around 9-12 years old, since it is important for me to be near the child, in order to not only provide demonstration, but also to correct the posture and arm/hand/finger position and movement. Otherwise there is a risk of the child getting used to physical habits and sensations that one should avoid while playing the instrument, as it is not easy for children to process these complex tasks online, while building the technique.
Exceptions are possible, depending on individual cases. Please contact me directly.

I recommend an hour per week. However other algorithms are negotiable – depending on your goals and availability. The most important thing is that you dedicate the time to practice on your own what we do during the lessons. Please take it seriously!

Yes. Access to a piano (either at home or anywhere else) is required for regular practice between the lessons. (Please see my policy on the regular practice above, in 'Teaching Style'.)
A digital piano is fine, depending on your needs. Although if you are at an advanced or professional level (or rapidly heading here), I must say you should be looking into acquiring an acoustic instrument).

English, German, Ukrainian, and Russian.
-
No, you do not! The good news is that my zoom version does not have time limits, therefore we will not be logged out!

I currently accept lesson payments globally via Wise (a digital banking platform – it allows you to open accounts and/or send transfers in multiple currencies). You do not have to have Wise to pay me if you are located in Europe (as you can send the payment via the IBAN).
Otherwise you can use my referral link to register, Wise is free.
Venmo is also an option, for students from the United States.
Please contact me personally for my current rate.

You can cancel your lesson 48+ hours in advance for free.
If you have to cancel less than 48 hours in advance I am happy to accommodate and offer you another time slot within a week (generally even sooner) for no extra cost.
If you are not able to attend the lesson during the alternatively scheduled time slot, you must pay in full.
I understand that life happens. You can use the 48+ hours cancelation policy up to three times in a row. If this happens, I offer to make a pause and resume lessons again, when you can attend them on a regular basis.
If you cancel less than 48+ hours in advance and do not pay for your missed lesson in full, you will be put into my personal blacklist, so please do not contact me ever again.
I hope for mutual understanding: if you constantly keep canceling, I am technically still holding the time slot for you – so I am not able to offer it to another student. In case of the fourth cancellation in a row, I can no longer offer the opportunity to continue lessons with me.
